Albert Smith, age 95

Covington, Georgia

Obituary : Mr. Albert Smith, age 95, of Social Circle passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021.  He was born September 20, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert Edward and Agnes Ann Barwig Smith who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Smith attended the Navy Pre-Flight Program at the University of North Carolina and later received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.  He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Captain with *Delta Airlines flying for 40 years.  Mr. Smith enjoyed tennis, shooting sports, personal fitness, and was an avid reader.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son David Smith and his wife Helen Smith.

 

Mr. Smith is survived by his children; Linda and Philip Smith of Dallas, Georgia, Mark S. Smith of Conyers, Matthew W. and Sheila Smith of Mt. Airy, Georgia, Carol Nicholson of Douglasville, Georgia, Michael A. and Dana Smith of Covington, Nancy and Brian Sutterfield of Euharlee, Georgia along with 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and his brother Jim Smith Portland Oregon.  The family regrets that the services will be private.  J.C.
