June 16, 1939 ~ November 5, 2021

 


Notification with the passing of retired Pan Am/Delta pilot Captain Wade Louis Davis Jr., age 82.  Captain Davis joined Pan American 03-01-1965 and retired with Delta Air Lines.  He is survived by his wife Vivian, his children and his grand- and greatgrandchildren.

Obituary : Ocala - Wade Louis Davis Jr., 82, of Ocala, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Advent Health of Ocala in Ocala, Florida. He was born June 16, 1939, to Wade Louis Davis Sr. and Janey Puryear Anderson Davis in Salisbury, North Carolina.

 

Wade served in the US Marine Corp, at Cherry Point NC where he acquired his passion for flight in the Air Wing Division. He earned a bachelor's degree and studied at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. A retired Captain, he piloted professionally for Pan American and Delta Airlines. He served as a Shriner, a Mason, an Elk, and as a Quiet Birdman. He loved spending time in the mountains, playing the game of golf, and riding motorcycles with his best of friends.

 

Wade is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Vivian Raye Davis of Ocala, Florida; his children, son Wade Louis Davis III and Julie of Groveland, FL and Kelly and Pascal Schaffer of Orlando, Florida; his six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 beginning at 1:00PM at Roberts Funeral Homes Bruce Chapel East, 2739 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, FL 34471.
