Obituary : Joanne Eileen McCready
Joanne Eileen Stephenson McCready went to be with
her lord peacefully on January 24th 2022 with her loving husband close by. She was born in Fond du Lac Wisconsin on May
3rd 1945 to Roland and Eileen Stephenson.
She graduated Cum Laude with a degree in psychology from the University
of Wisconsin in 1966.
Joanne met Jim McCready in Hawaii in February
1967. They were married on July 19th
1969 in Chilton Wisconsin and then moved to Arizona and California.
Soon their love gave birth to a son Andrew and a
daughter Victoria. They settled in
Seattle Washington in 1981 where they lived for the next seventeen years. Jim was a pilot for Delta and Joanne immersed
herself in being a wife, mother and volunteer for numerous organizations. From her beloved church, Federal Way United
Methodist Church, the PTA, playing in the hand bell chorus, and other clubs and
organizations she generously gave her time and efforts to make other’s lives
better.
In 1998 Jim and Joanne built their retirement home
in Maryville Tennessee where they spent the remainder of their time together. She cared lovingly for her mother until
Eileen died in 2004. Throughout her time
in Tennessee she again volunteered with many organizations like Martel and
Oakland United Methodist Churches, the Alzheimer Association and food shelters.
Joanne loved her grandparents deeply and always
had a great appreciation for them. She
missed them dearly after their death and told her family endless stories of
visiting with them and how they cared for her while her mother worked for GM in
Milwaukee.
She was incredibly proud of her children and their
accomplishments. She especially loved
her grandson Charlie who she helped care for, teach and mold into the young man
that he is today.
All of her family and friends will miss her
laughter and her great love for life. A Celebration of Life will be 12 Noon
Thursday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Skip White officiating. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home,
Madisonville.
