Obituary : Kenneth
P. Horn
Kenneth P. Horn of New Milford, CT, passed away on
January 18, 2022 at the age of 81. Kenneth died peacefully at Danbury Hospital
following a brief illness.
Kenneth was born in Oak Park, Illinois on August
5, 1940, the youngest of six children born to Edwin C. Horn and Margaret
Higgins Horn. He was the grandson of J. C. Higgins. Kenneth was raised in River
Forest, Illinois.
On June 4, 1966, he married Catherine Evanson and
they began a loving lifetime partnership, establishing their final permanent
home in New Milford, CT in 1972.
Kenneth began his professional life as a
commercial airline pilot in 1960. He retired from Delta Airlines as a captain,
ending a distinguished career that he loved. He maintained a deep loyalty to
Delta Airlines for providing him the opportunity to pursue a career that
brought him great professional and personal satisfaction.
In retirement, he pursued his interests in finding
and meticulously restoring vintage collectables. He also enjoyed spending time
at the family's lakeside cabin in Grand Lake Stream, Maine.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife, Catherine
Evanson Horn; sister, Ann Horn Chaudoin; sister-in-law, Carol Evanson Blake
(and husband Stetson); and by a close family friend, Jan Mabasa. Kenneth was
pre-deceased in 2014 by a devoted and accomplished daughter, Judith Catherine
Horn.
Ken will be remembered as a quiet man of integrity
and strong convictions who took great pride in his professional career, and was
devoted to his wife and daughter.
Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford,
CT is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services at this time.
Internment will take place in the spring at St. Francis Cemetery in New
Milford, CT.
