Obituary : Henry “Hank” Didier, 71, of Cat Island, Bahamas, Ash Bay, Canada, and Sarona, WI, passed away February 6, 2022. He was born on July 2, 1950, in Bangor MI to Henry and Vera (Till) Didier.

 

Hank had a lifelong love of flying, earning his private pilot license at age 16 then working his way through the aviation industry; from flight instructor to flying the mail to cargo pilot to ultimately retiring as a B747-400 International Captain for Northwest Airlines. Along the way, he flew float planes, ski planes, gliders and helicopters from above the Artic Circle to the Islands of the Caribbean with his family.

 

Hank is survived by his wife: Sue Didier; daughter: Michelle (Stephen) Waddell; son: Nicholas (Kusumawardhani) Didier; sisters: Lois Nisbet and Dorothy Didier, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Vera Didier; and sister: Linda Lubensky.

 

A visitation will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Skinner Funeral Home-Shell Lake with a time of sharing at 2:30 PM. Interment will be at the Sarona Cemetery at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagles Program.
