___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary : Brian Wittke was born to Donald Wittke Sr. and Annie Vargas on December 10th, 1980, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Brian passed away on June 14th, 2022, at the age of 41 and returned to his creators loving arms where he could be at peace.

Brian had a profound influence on all who knew him. He had a fun, playful personality and conveyed love, humor, and joy to all fortunate enough to interact with him.

As a third-generation pilot, Brian loved flying and the freedom it brought. As a child he was fascinated with airplanes and the concept of flying. As an adult he accomplished his dream of becoming a Delta pilot and took to the sky on metal wings. He was constantly excelling in his profession. If Brian had a weakness, it was that he could never sit still. He was constantly reading and learning, including obtaining an MBA degree from the University of Utah while working full time. But as impressive as his career was, even more impressive was his love for his family!

Brian married the love of his life, Wendy Lowrance, in 2002 and added three beautiful children to their family. He cherished the quality time he got to spend with them. He excelled as a provider for his family whom he loved dearly.

Brian developed a love for nature and all that it entailed. Whether hiking, camping, skiing, dirt biking, or just being in the mountains, Brian was always most at peace when in nature.

Brian is survived in life by his wife (Wendy), his children (Brinley [19], Bryson [16], and Brayden [12]), his siblings (Abbie, Donald; Elizabeth, Mary, Jonathan, David, Stephen), his parents (Don and Kathy, Ann and Frank, and Dan and Elaine).

Brian, may the wind always be under your forever wings and may you fly free!

Love you forever, for always, and no matter what
