in the “In Memoriam Column” of the September 2022 issue of The Air Line Pilot
magazine, the January 2021 passing of DL Capt. Robert M.
VerSchure. Robert Mark VerSchure, age
68, joined Northwest Airlines 07-21-1989 and retired with Delta Air Lines. He is survived by his wife Carol and by his
children and their families.

OBITUARY : Robert M. VerSchure, 68
Sturbridge, MA - Born in San Diego, CA. US Naval
Academy, class of '74. Bob flew P3's in the Navy, staying in the cockpit as a
commercial pilot through his career.
Bob is survived by his wife Carol (Gillett)
VerSchure; his son Tim VerSchure his wife Gretchen, and their children Jade,
Tyler and Reilly; by his daughter Keri Kansagor her husband Dave, and their
children Cole and Reese; by his brother Tom VerSchure and his wife Liz, as well
as his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin
and Arlene VerSchure, and his sister Barbara (VerSchure) Slye.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was a great man – humble, honest, quiet, with a warm smile, a generous heart
and strong will. We will miss him every day but carry him with us always.
A *celebration of life will be held in late July.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and LifePath Hospice.
