___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary : Ronald Clement Favaloro was born on 13 December 1947 in New Orleans, LA, to Angelo and Lois Favaloro. He died at the age of 74 on August 7, 2022 in Collierville, TN, where he had been a resident for over 25 years.

Ron spent his childhood in New Orleans, graduating from East Jefferson High School in 1965. He went on to earn an electrical engineering degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and remained a rabid LSU fan to the end. GEAUX TIGERS! Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force, where he learned to fly which had been his childhood dream. He flew the C-130 aircraft and attained the rank of Captain. Ron was honorably discharged in 1978 and was immediately hired by Southern Airways. He had a 34 year long career flying many different aircraft and retired in 2012 from Delta Airlines. His last and favorite aircraft was the Airbus A330. He loved both seeing new places and meeting new crewmembers. His other love was boating, especially if he had a load of teenagers to throw from the tube.

Ron married Deborah Bruggenthies on March 8, 1986. They have two children, Angela Henderson (Hunter) of Collierville, TN, and Anthony Favaloro (Shelby) of West Lafayette, Indiana. He found great joy in his family and was overjoyed to welcome grandchildren, Asher Henderson and Roman Favaloro, in his last years. After retirement, he and Deborah enjoyed traveling, whether by air, on a cruise ship, or “roughing it” in their camper, the destination was unimportant compared to the time spent with family and friends.

Ronald became a Christian, trusting Jesus to be his Lord and Savior in 1985. He faithfully served the body of Christ in different capacities from then until God called him home. Ron was known for his love of others and his encouraging words and prayers. He will be greatly missed by both his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Ron's wish was that a donations would be made to Life Choices of Memphis.

A visitation for Ronald will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Living Hope Church, 345 Keough Drive, Piperton, TN 38017. A funeral service will occur Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 345 Keough Drive, Collierville, TN 38017.
