___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

DL F/A Linda Simpson, wife of DL Capt. Gerald “Jerry” Simpson

Sad news to share as we start the new year….this news from friends and colleagues:

Linda Powell Simpson passed away Saturday January 7, 2023.  Linda was a former Delta Flight Attendant (1963-1968 I believe) based in MIA and IAH.  She was married to Retired Delta Captain Jerry Simpson.

Linda did not wish to have a formal funeral and did not want folks to cry and mourn her death.  Instead she wanted all her family, friends, and neighbors to get together and have a celebration of her life.  The celebration was held today at the Simpson's house in Sunset, TX.  There were close to 100 folks in attendance.

Jerry Simpson's address is:  775 Whispering Oaks, Sunset, TX 76270

  1. I don't ever have the right words to say when we lose a family member Jerry. It was wonderful to see you and Linda some years ago when my husband Gene and I came out toward Bowie.

I have literally known you all my life since i was 3. Linda and the kids as they came along. I'm sorry I could not come out to see you for the celebration for Linda as I live in Arkansas.

I love you with all my heart. I truly wish the best for you. To you and Trish I send my heart felt condolences.
