NWA Capt. Chane Howard

Military veteran, NWA Capt. Chane Howard

April 6, 1940 – June 29, 2023

                                                            


                      

From the RNPA/Retired Northwest pilots group comes news with the passing of retired Northwest Airlines pilot Captain Chane Conrad Howard, age 83.  Captain Howard joined Northwest Airlines 6-12-1967.

Obituary :

NWA Captain Chane C. Howard, age 83, died June 29th, 2023 in Los Angeles,

CA. Chane passed suddenly after an unforeseen issue with his respiratory

system. Chane was born on April 6, 1940 in Idaho. His father was US Army

Colonel Ward C. Howard of WA. His mother was Martha K. Howard of Idaho.

After High School in Joliet IL., Chane went to Penn State University and on

to Navy Cadet Training in Pensacola FL., Corpus Christi TX., and Meridian

MS. Chane spent 5 years flying the P-3A Orion for the US Navy in Southeast

Asia during the Vietnam War, from 1962-1967.

Chane loved to fly and after the Navy he was immediately hired by NWA in

June 1967. He was based in MSP and DTW, commuting most of the time from SEA.

At the time of his retirement in 2000 he was Captain on the Boeing 747-400.

Chane is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Judith D Howard, his

children, Trast C. Howard and Kendyll D. Howard, his daughter-in-law Keiko

Yanagida Howard, and his wonderful granddaughter Kiri D. Howard.
