___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Philip Reeve Jones, born on April 5, 1947, in San Francisco, California, peacefully departed this world on June 15, 2024, in Peachtree City, Georgia, at the age of 77.

Philip lived a life colored by courage and dedication. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force during Vietnam, Philip bravely flew missions in the Vietnam War before transitioning into a fulfilling career as a pilot for Delta Airlines. His passion for aviation was unmatched, and his skills graced the skies with grace and precision.

In 1972, Philip embarked on another remarkable journey when he married the love of his life, Jane Jones. Together, they built a beautiful family filled with love and cherished memories. As a devoted husband and father, Philip found joy in spending time with his family, relishing every moment shared together.

With an unwavering spirit and determination, Philip pursued academic excellence by obtaining his Bachelor’s from Tulane University and an MBA from Oklahoma City University. He was also a founding member of the Peachtree City Running Club, showcasing his commitment to staying active and engaged within his community.

Philip’s other passion in life was sailing. His love for sailing was more than just a hobby; it was a reflection of his fearless approach to life — taking on each wave as it came, rising above storms, and finding peace in the rhythm of the ocean.

Philip is survived by his children, Adrienne Jones and Chris Jones, as well as his brother Mark and his wife, Carrie Jones. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane Jones and his parents Paul and Margaret Jones.

Philip’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created. His kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones serve as a beacon of inspiration for all who knew him. May his spirit soar high like the planes he once navigated with skill and grace.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. In lieu of flowers the family lovingly asks for donations in Philip’s name be made to an environmental organization of your choice.

Rest in peace, Philip Reeve Jones. Your memory will forever be cherished and your impact everlasting.
