Captain Hoyt Jolly, age 76, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Hoyt joined Delta Air Lines 06-12-1978.  He is survived by his wife Terry, and by his children and their families.  For those who may wish to send a personal note, I see the family’s address listed in whitepages as

Hoyt Jolly Obituary

 

Hoyt Jolly III, age 76, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Hoyt Jolly Sr., and his sister, Wanda Jolly.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Hoyt served as a Captain before transitioning to a career as a pilot with Delta Airlines, where he worked in commercial transport for 27 years. He was also an active and devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, where he served as an usher and volunteered with the James Gang charity work group. Hoyt also contributed as a Sunday School teacher at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Above all, he was a man who dedicated his life to his family.

Hoyt will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Terry Jolly; his children: Hoyt Jolly IV of Jonesboro, Christy and Brian Lueke of Hoschton, Melissa and Mickey Manfredi of Roswell, Michael and Alejandra McLendon Jolly of Mableton, and Angela Nicole Jolly of Jonesboro; his sister, Gayle Jolly Templin of Houston; his brothers-in-law, George Martin and Al Martin; and his grandchildren: Giselle Manfredi, Michael Manfredi, Cadence Lueke, Melody Lueke, and Madison Jolly.

A funeral service celebrating Hoyt's life will be held on Wednesday, December 18th, at 10:30 AM at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, 2047 Hwy 138 SE, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, prior to the service. Following the service, Hoyt will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. At your discretion, the family kindly requests that flowers or donations in honor of Hoyt be made to Samaritan's Purse at samaritanspurse.org or to the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Missions.
