Obituary of Albert David Bentley, III
Albert David Bentley, III, 67, died Tuesday Jan
21st 2025, at his home in Apple Valley, MN with his wife, Terra by his side,
from the devastating disease of Lewy Body Dementia.
Dave was born September 7, 1957 in Orlando, FL. To
Albert David Bently II and Ellen Hardy Bentley. He graduated with a bachelor's
Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautic University in Daytona Beach, FL. He married
his wife, Terra, on March 9, 1985. He came to MN, with his family, to fly for
Northwest Airlines in January 1989 and MN became their home. He loved flying
airplanes as a Captain for Northwest and Delta Airlines and was always amazed
he got paid for doing what he loved most, flying jet airplanes. He enjoyed both
international and domestic flights. He left Delta in October 2016 when he
became sick.
Dave loved family and friends above all else. He
loved traveling and history and was an excellent chef. His culinary skills are
missed by all who had the pleasure of tasting the excellent flavors.
Dave is survived by his wife Terra, his children
Chris (Tracy) Bentley and Jenn (Matt) Warns, grandchildren Charlotte Bentley
(4) Ada Warns (6) and Ruby Warns (2 months), brothers Bill (Kathleen) and
Bryan, mother-in-law Jean Ewing, brothers-in-law Dan (Nichole) and Steve
(Maria), 7 nieces and nephews and so many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
father-in-law Glenn Ewing and brother-in-law Bryan Ewing.
Dave will be remembered for his wonderful sense of
humor and zest for life with his positive attitude.
Friends and family are welcome to join us for a
reception in Dave's honor at the Edina Location of the Cremation Society, 7110
France Avenue South, on February 15 at 11-1. A private ceremony will take place
at a later date in the Living Forest, A Better Place Forest, in St. Croix
Valley.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated
in Dave's honor to the Lewy Body Dementia Association via the hyperlink or at
912 Killian Hill Rd. S.W. Lilburn, GA 30047 for the future treatment and cure
of this torturous disease.
We send heartfelt thanks to MN Hospice for the
wonderful care and support they gave to Dave and the family, allowing him to
remain in his home throughout his illness.
