PAA/DL Capt. Thomas J. Stone

Navy veteran, PAA/DL Capt. Thomas J. Stone

March 26, 1939  -  December 14, 2023

 

As noted in the January/February issue of the Air Line Pilot magazine’s In Memoriam page, we see the passing of PAA/DL Captain Thomas Joseph Stone, age 84.  Tom joined Pan American 08-14-1967 and retired with Delta Air Lines.  He is survived by many extended family members and friends.

Thomas J. Stone, 84 of Key Largo, FL and Carrollton IL passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Jersey Community Hospital. He was born March 26, 1939 in Carrollton, the son of Leonard and Marie Kaiser Stone.  He is survived by several cousins and friends.

 

Tom served in the United States Navy as a pilot. He enjoyed traveling, his home in Key Largo, FL, and his service to the United States though his time flying for the Navy. He was a pilot for Pan Am for several years and loved traveling around the world.

 

Funeral mass was at St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton with burial in St. John’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. John’s Cafeteria Building Fund or Meals on Wheels.
