In Loving Memory of David "Dave"
Freilinger
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the
passing of David "Dave" Freilinger, who left this earth on March 30,
2025, at his home in Farmington, Minnesota, surrounded by the family he loved
so deeply.
Born in Valdosta, Georgia, on November 23, 1954,
Dave lived his 70 years with quiet strength, unshakable faith, and a deep
commitment to those around him. He served our country with honor as a Captain
in the United States Air Force for 11 years before continuing his career in the
skies with Delta Air Lines. For over three decades, he was a trusted and
respected Airline Captain.
But Dave's proudest role wasn't in a cockpit or a
uniform-it was as a husband and father. He was married to the love of his life,
Tammy Freilinger, for 29 years. Together, they raised seven children, built a
home filled with grace and laughter, and created a legacy rooted in faith,
family, and unconditional love. He led with a thoughtful heart and a faith that
never wavered. His love for Christ was at the center of who he was, guiding
every decision and relationship. He loved his family fiercely and defended them
loyalty. He was passionate about travel and had a deep appreciation for vintage
cars.
Dave is survived by his wife Tammy, their seven
children, numerous siblings, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in
death by his parents and his brother Ron Freilinger.
Though his absence is deeply felt, Dave's spirit
lives on in the faith he passed down, the love he gave so freely, and the
example he set for how to live with humility, purpose, and grace. He leaves
behind a family who will carry his light forward-through every prayer, every
act of kindness, and every quiet moment of strength.
We know that he is now resting in the arms of his
Savior, and we take comfort in that promise.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on
Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at River Valley Church, located at 14898
Energy Way, Apple Valley, MN 55124. There will be a Gathering of Family and
Friends, one hour prior to the Service at the church.
Interment will take place at Fort Snelling
National Cemetery, in Minneapolis, MN.
