Obituary :
Clemoth “Earl” Earl Jones, born on March 14, 1938,
in the charming town of Pantego, North Carolina, took his final flight from
this world on June 28, 2025, from Newnan, Georgia. At the age of 87, Earl left
a legacy of love, dedication, and inspiration that will forever remain etched
in the hearts of those who knew him.
A humble and dedicated soul, Earl spent his
professional life soaring through the skies as a pilot for Delta Air Lines. His
time in the cockpit demonstrated his commitment to excellence and his
unwavering determination to follow his dreams. Before his career with Delta,
Earl served his country with pride as a member of the U.S. Air Force, where he
honed the skills that would later define his life's work.
Earl's greatest joy, however, was found in his
family. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather, Earl had a deep and unfaltering love for his family, who
were the center of his universe. He was preceded in death by his beloved
parents, Clemoth and Gladys Jones, and his cherished wife, Lillie Jones.
Surviving Earl are his children, Lori Kozusnik and
Greg (Ann) Jones, who carry forward his spirit and values. His grandchildren,
Christopher (Stephanie) Kozusnik, Danielle (Ryan) Gage, and Brandon (Breanna)
Kozusnik, have been blessed to inherit his passion for life and dedication to
family. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Zoe Cline and Trevor Gage,
whose lives will be enriched by the legacy of their great-grandfather's love.
Earl is fondly remembered by his sister, Virginia
Everett, and by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends
who feel the tremendous impact of his kindness and generosity.
To all who knew him, Earl was a guiding light—his
life an example of integrity, dedication, and unwavering love. His memory will
continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit
will forever lift our hearts as we look to the skies.
