Neal joined National 06-6-1966, then flew for Pan Am, and retired with Delta Air Lines in 1998 based

Atlanta.  Neal is survived by his wife Joanne, and by his daughters and their families.

Interment:  Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Neal Edward Waldron, was born in Tampa, Florida, on October 6, 1938, and died August 5, 2026, at age 87, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida. He has been a long time resident of Spruce Creek Fly-In Community in Port Orange, Florida.

 

Neal graduated from Coral Gables High School in Miami and earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami. He married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Kathryn Price, on February 5, 1961. They moved to Arizona for US Air Force Flight Training School then to Travis Air Force Base near San Francisco, California. Neal flew C141s in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Once 6 years completed and at the rank of Captain, Neal decided to make the transition to civilian life and be a commercial airline pilot back in their hometown of Miami, FL. He first started with National Airlines, then Pan Am where he flew the Press Charter flights for President Ronald Reagan and even got to meet President Reagan at the White House! After Pan Am he transferred to Delta Airlines which is the company he retired from. Neal's passion was flying and he owned many different private planes over the years and enjoyed flying and working on them. He obtained his A&P Mechanical Certification so he could do annual inspections for private planes.

 

Neal was a member of the VFW and EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). He was a devout Christian and supported many Christian ministries, a few of which will be listed below.

 

Neal is preceded in death by his father, Ray Waldron, Mother, Merle Waldron, and brother, Don Waldron. He is survived by his loving wife Joanne Waldron of Port Orange, FL, daughter Kathryn Waldron Jacobs of Woodbridge, VA, daughter Carolyn Waldron Ciervo of Frederick, MD, sister, Barbara Reker of Miami, FL, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.

 

Neal will be buried at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
