Obituary...........James Landgren  
James "Jim" Landgren, age 72, of Pine River, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was born to Earl and Amy Landgren on January 13, 1944, in Underwood, ND. James was a pilot for Northwest Airlines retiring after 40 years of service.
James is survived by his wife, Cherie Landgren; sister, Linda Pryor; daughters: Jaimi Landgren of Los Angeles, CA, Kelsi Compton (Phil) of Loveland, Co, Megan Norelius of Chisago City, MN, Jennifer Bennett of Pensacola, FL; and nine grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 13, at the Log Church in Crosslake, MN.

 

  

NWA captain Jim Landgren passed after a long bout with a degenerative muscle disease. He was hired by NWA on October 25, 1965 and retired on January 13, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 13, at the Log Church in Crosslake, MN.

Word has been received with the passing of RNPA member retired Northwest pilot Captain David Reploeg, age 86.  Captain Reploeg joined Northwest 05-03-1958, first as a mechanic and then flight engineer.  He is survived by his wife Joan.  Graveside services with military honors will be conducted Monday, August 15th in Minnesota...please see information below.

Reploeg, David "Dave" Age 86 of Excelsior passed away August 3, 2016 at his home. Survived by loving wife of 46 years, Joan (Mason). He will be missed by his son Mark (Angela); grandchildren Nate and Charlotte. He was a pilot with Northwest Airlines for 32 years. He served his country in the Korean War in the Navy. Graveside service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Monday, August 15 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Dave was an avid gardener and LBK's Longbeach Condo's Grounds and Pool Board chair from 2006-2015. 

Dave's expertise, enthusiasm and hard work contributed much to the lovely landscape we enjoy at Longbeach.
During his tenure, Dave planted the fruit orchard on the Southside of the office and always planted his beloved
Geraniums annually in the Meadow and at the entrances.

Dave was also an Artist, Commercial Pilot and Veteran.
Dave will be celebrated with full MILITARY CEMETERY HONORS, including playing of taps, three rifle volley and folding presentation of the flag on

Obituary..................Johnston, George Henry,
age 81, of Edina, passed away July 26, 2016. George was raised in Central Oregon and attended the University of Oregon at Eugene, Oregon where he was awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He attended pilot training with U.S. Air Force, and was assigned as a tanker pilot during the Vietnam War, flying 54 combat missions. He was released from Air Force in 1968 and joined the airlines, where he flew for Hughes Air West, Republic and Northwest Airlines as a First Officer and Captain. He married Virginia (Jean) Mae Tomasoski in 1971. In 1985, they moved from Scottsdale, Arizona to Edina, MN, and enjoyed their home in Edina as well as a lake home in Northern Minnesota. He retired in 2003 with 25 years accredited service with the airlines. During retirement, he enjoyed golf, fly fishing, photography and adventure. George and Jean celebrated 45 years of marriage in 2015. He had a tremendous love for Jean, Elizabeth and Allison. He is survived by his wife, Jean, daughters Elizabeth Johnston, Allison Christensen, son-in-law Chad Christensen, and grandsons Harrison and Charles Newbold. News with the passing of Western/Delta pilot Captain Dudley Bowman Moore III has reached our group.  Captain Moore joined Western Airlines 02-26-1968 and retired with Delta Air Lines, I believe based SLC.  Captain Moore was 77 years of age at the time of his passing.  He had most recently resided in La Mesa, California.  Please see information below for services this Thursday, August 4th.

Barbara Jean Hill, widow of NEA/DL Capt. Richard 'Dick' O. Hill

July 10, 1931 - July 2, 2016

Barbara Jean (McClintock) Hill, 84, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Barbara was a longtime summer resident of Pocasset. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard O. Hill, who passed away August 10, 1986.

 

Barbara was born on July 10, 1931, in Lancaster, New Hampshire to the late Richard and Dorothy (Ramsey) McClintock. She spent her school years in Auburndale (Newton) where her father was the minister at the Church of the Messiah. She graduated from Westbrook College in Maine in 1951, earning her Associates degree. Barbara met her late husband Dick when they both worked summers at the Weekapaug Inn in Rhode Island, where he was a lifeguard and she a waitress. Very much in love, they raised their three children in Duxbury.

 

Barbara loved to travel, doing so independently (and with her children and their spouses) her entire life, visiting many different countries the world over. She was a lifelong summer resident of Pocasset and enjoyed every moment of her time at Wenaumet Bluffs. She was an avid birdwatcher and loved animals, especially her family's many pets. A lifelong Democrat, Barbara was a supporter of a host of diverse charities. She enjoyed sailing, tennis, and skiing, and was an excellent swimmer. Barbara loved to garden and was a voracious reader. A generous, kind, and loyal friend to her family, friends, and neighbors, she was especially proud of her children.

 

Devoted mother to Carol A. Hill of S. Dartmouth, Rich Hill and his wife Jojo of Bourne, Susan E. Howell and her husband Dean of Durham, Maine. Cherished grandmother to Wendy and Barry Proctor of Massachusetts. Loving sister of Dr. Richard P. McClintock and his wife Joy, John A. McClintock and his wife Sue, all of California. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive Barbara.

 

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 6, from 4-7pm in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. in Bourne.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, at 11:00am in St. John's Episcopal Church, 159 Main St. in Sandwich.
Burial to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Barbara to The Animal Rescue League of Boston, The Bourne Conservation Trust, your favorite Public Radio station, or the charity of your choice.

Not sure if you report on the passing of wives, but you may recall my Dad, Dick Hill, who passed away 8/10/1986.
