___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our PCN Flight West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. NWA retired Mgr., Flight Training/Scheduling Glenn ‘Andy’ Anderson

~ IN MEMORY ~
NWA retired Manager, Flight Training/Scheduling Glenn ‘Andy’ Anderson
May 21, 1920 ~ January 17, 2020

Friends and colleagues write:  “Anderson, Glenn M. age 99, of Bloomington, Minnesota died January 17, 2020. While little is known of Andy’s background, we do know he served in the Air Force in WWII, stationed in England with the 8th Air Force. He began his 37 year career at Northwest Airlines as an agent. Most of us knew ‘Andy’ through his role as the Manager of Flight Training Scheduling back in MSP. He was often one of our first contacts with the Training Department. The renown scheduling team at NWA Flight Training were Andy, Ralph, and Pat. They were well known for their almost sleuth skills at finding trainees and instructors who did their best to not found, inserting them into schedule slots for early morning simulator and aircraft training flights. In time we came to appreciate Andy’s skill at doing his job very well.”

Friend and colleague Capt. Harry Ballance writes:  “He was recovering from a back operation in a convalescent center. Apparently it was cardiac arrest. Mom sue for Delta for a number of years, starting, I believe in 1963. He retired with the group known as The Fabulous Five Hundred in the late 1990s, as a 1011 line Check Airman. He flew for the next 10 or so years in the private sector as a Captain in several Part 135 and 91 operations. Bob was based in Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, and Cincinnati.
