Captain Chester Boice Allen III joined Delta Air Lines 02-28-1965 and was based Atlanta.

……….distinguished 32-year career flying for Delta Air Lines. He earned the nickname “CB” from his colleagues. He retired as a Captain on the Boeing 767 in 1997 at the age of 55. His lifelong passion for aviation remained strong well into retirement, as he continued to take to the skies with the Delta Flight Museum.

Widowed in 2021, Captain Allen is survived by his daughter Jennifer and her family.

Chester Boice Allen III, late of Newnan, Georgia, passed away from natural causes at home on May 22, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on March 20, 1941, in Montclair, New Jersey, Chester was known as “Terry” throughout his childhood. Following high school, he served in the Navy before graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, launching a distinguished 32-year career flying for Delta Airlines. He earned the nickname “CB” from his colleagues. He retired as a Captain on the Boeing 767 in 1997 at the age of 55. His lifelong passion for aviation remained strong well into retirement, as he continued to take to the skies with the Delta Flight Museum.

A true outdoorsman and accomplished sportsman, Chester enjoyed raising cattle and showing his Morgan horses, as well as hunting deer and turkey with a musket rifle and bow and arrow. He cherished traveling to Alaska to fish with friends and taking ski trips with his family. He eventually combined his love for aviation and farming by clearing a pasture to build a landing strip for his Piper Cub. Ever handy and curious about how things worked, Chester was deeply engaged in community service— repairing houses for those in need and always offering a helping hand to a neighbor. His generosity and spirit of service left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. In his later years, he treasured every moment spent with his family, especially his granddaughter. Above all, Chester was a deeply loving family man, and he will be forever missed.

Chester is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Allen (William Dwight) Yarbrough of Daniel Island, S.C.; his granddaughter, Ella Carter Yarbrough; and his sister, Susan Harriet. (Daniel Kendall) Allen of Jacksonville, FL. Chester was preceded in death by his first wife and dear friend, Patricia Allen Talton; his second wife, Terri Mullins Allen; his parents, Jane Reeve Allen and Chester Boice Allen Jr.; and his brother, James Reeve Allen. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society.

Marvin “Marv” Curtis Schrader, age 88, was devoted to his family and his Minnesota community …………..He spent his retirement years in service, volunteering at Nature Bend River Center, Sertoma and Rotary clubs. He even learned how to roll lefse and make rosettes for the lutefisk dinner which he chaired for 10 years ………………

 

Marvin Curtis Schrader joined Western Airlines 08-21-1967 and retired with Delta Air Lines based SLC.  He is survived by his wife Sara, and by his children and their families.

Marvin “Marv” Curtis Schrader, age 88, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at United Hospital surrounded by family.

Marvin Curtis Schrader was born December 28, 1937 in Northfield, MN to Fred and Gladys (Kern) Schrader. The 5th of 6 children, Marv was a very curious and adventurous child. He grew up on a farm in Bridgewater Township, west of Dundas, MN. He attended District 97, a one room school, for his first eight years of schooling. In his youth, he was very involved with the 4-H club and also with FFA. In high school, he was involved with different organizations including student government where he was class president. He graduated from Northfield High School in 1955 and went to University of Minnesota. He majored in dairy husbandry and while there, joined the Air Force ROTC program. After graduation in 1959, he married Sara Margaret Nesseth on July 11th, 1959, at Vang Lutheran Church in Holden Township. In March of 1960, they left for Texas and pilot training. He spent seven and half years in the Air Force as a pilot, flying bombers and tanker aircraft in SAC. He joined Western Airlines in 1967. He was called back to the Air Force January 1968 during the Vietnam War until June 1969. He spent the rest of his flying career with Western and then Delta Airlines. He retired in 1995.

Marvin was a world traveler, travelling to 6 of the 7 continents, with 50 trips in 30 years, most with his wife, Sara. His favorite trips were to Vietnam and South Africa. Another memorable trip was a mission trip to Tanzania. After he retired, he and Sara spent their winters in Surprise, Arizona where he showed off his theatrical chops with the Happy Trails Theatre Group. He spent his retirement years in service, volunteering at Nature Bend River Center, Sertoma and Rotary clubs. He even learned how to roll lefse and make rosettes for the lutefisk dinner which he chaired for 10 years at First English Lutheran church.

Marv was happiest when he was surrounded by family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He devoted his life providing for his family and making sure others were cared for. His sense of humor and generous spirit will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sara (Nesseth) Schrader. His children, Perry Schrader of Stillwater, MN (sons, Chaz & Bryce Cernous-Schrader), Wendy Smith Becker, (Tim) of Dundas, MN {children Ryan (Becky) Becker, Sara (Cole) Jansen, Cory Becker, Abby Smith & Caleb (Crystal) Becker}, and Brenda Schrader of Superior, WI (stepson, Scott Tyler and Bailey Johnson). His great grandchildren Ian & Blake Jansen (Sara & Cole) and Kinslee & Callahan Becker (Caleb & Crystal). His sister, Ardis Liebenstein of Dundas, MN and Forest “Woody” Schrader (Ione) of Faribault, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother, Kenny, and sisters, Marilyn & Eileen.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. Military Honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association will take place outside the church following the service. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Parker Kohl Funeral Home and will continue from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at church.

Memorials are preferred to Habitat for Humanity or to a Scholarship in Marv’s honor through the Rotary Strive Program.

Funeral arrangements are being completed by Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory.

He served his country in the Air National Guard as a jet engine mechanic, combining his mechanical skills with his passion for flight.  Clarence had a distinguished aviation career, flying for Cummings & Groves, Big 3, and Delta Airlines…………….

 

Clarence Elwin Ray Jr. joined Delta Air Lines 09-03-1968 and was based Dallas and Atlanta.  Widowed in 2022, Captain Ray is survived by his children and their families.

Clarence Ray, beloved father, businessman, pilot, and public servant, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 15, 1939, in Houston, Texas, Clarence lived a life defined by faith, service, determination, and an unwavering love for his family and community.
From an early age, Clarence demonstrated natural leadership, serving as President of the Distributive Education Association. He worked alongside his father as a mechanic at Harrisburg Motors while pursuing his lifelong dream of aviation. He served his country in the Air National Guard as a jet engine mechanic, combining his mechanical skills with his passion for flight.
Clarence had a distinguished aviation career, flying for Cummings & Groves, Big 3, and Delta Airlines. Never content to stop improving, he embraced entrepreneurship by founding Longview Limo and Longview Airfreight. Even into his early eighties, Clarence continued working as an oilfield hot-shot delivery driver.
Clarence served on the White Oak City Council, where he worked to strengthen and improve his community. His heart for service extended to Woodland Hills Baptist Church, where he faithfully volunteered, touching countless lives through his generosity and steadfast faith.
Above all else, Clarence cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love was demonstrated through countless acts of kindness, guidance, and sacrifice. Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ray, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He is lovingly remembered by his children, James Ray (Linda), Kathy Hendrix (Andy), Sean Ray (Amanda); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Clarence will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, entrepreneurial vision, captivating storytelling, love of the outdoors, and unwavering commitment to his faith, family, and community. His legacy of integrity, hard work, compassion, and service lives on in the lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, we find comfort in celebrating a life well lived and the enduring example he leaves behind.

Dr. Barbara McIntyre Ray passed away at 6:44 am on March 23rd, 2022 at her home in White Oak, Texas. Born on January 28th, 1939 in Gladewater, Texas to Lee and Louise McIntyre she spent her early years in White Oak. Due to her father's job as a roughneck with Sinclair Oil, her family relocated to Kentucky and Illinois for a period of time. Always an engaged and active learner, Barbara was involved and excelled in many areas while attending Henderson High School in Henderson, Kentucky. Her love for music and school spirit was on full display during her role in all-state band and in her appointment as a lead drum majorette. Upon graduation in 1957, she attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri her freshman year. The following year she transferred and began her journey as a loyal Baylor Bear. While at Baylor in Waco, Texas, she received a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology………………………

He became a flight engineer and pilot for Pan American Airlines during their glory years, and later for Delta Air Lines, traversing the globe from JFK airport…………….

Roger joined Pan American 10-31-1966.  Widowed in 2014, Roger is survived by four of his children, along with his grand- and greatgrandchildren and their families.

Roger E. Behre Obituary

Roger E. Behre, a man whose life was a tapestry of adventure, took his final flight home, passing away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 94, in his home in Seven Lakes, North Carolina. Born on June 24, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, Roger was the cherished son of Walter and Marguerite Behre. He carried the legacy of his parents with dignity and grace throughout his life.

 

Roger's journey began in New Providence, New Jersey, working in his families rose growing business. He graduated from Summit High School and was a Pole Vaulter on the track team before following his older Brother Charles to the University of Idaho earning a degree in agriculture and making lifelong friends as a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. His flight path was marked by a strong sense of duty, which led him to serve in the United States Air Force as a Lt Col. In 1954, he took his first solo flight, a momentous occasion that set the stage for a distinguished flying career. Roger served as a pilot for the Strategic Air Command, flying refueling aircraft, and later joined the New Jersey Air National Guard. During the Vietnam War, his unit played a crucial role out of McGuire Air Force base training pilots and navigators for radar patrol and surveillance operations in Southeast Asia.

 

After a brief stint as a salesman in NYC, Roger's love of flying found a new home in the commercial aviation industry. He became a flight engineer and pilot for Pan American Airlines during their glory years, and later for Delta Airlines, traversing the globe from JFK airport. From the DC-8 to the Boeing 737, 707, and the Boeing 747, Roger piloted numerous aircraft to destinations in Europe, South America, and Africa. He flew to all 50 states and more than 50 countries and most major cities around the world. With Pan Am, Roger volunteered to fly to combat zones in support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. They were the most satisfying and proudest flights of his career when he was able to return those troops to America and their loved ones. Roger often quipped that the only time he felt unsafe was driving in Brooklyn on the Belt Parkway back and forth to the airport.

 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Roger was a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the New Providence Fire Department, serving from 1959 to 1992. He was also a proud member of the American Legion. His commitment to community service was a testament to his generous spirit.

 

Roger had a passion for keeping his yard immaculate and for tennis, which he played recreationally until tennis elbow led him to rediscover golf, a sport he enjoyed immensely in his later years in Seven Lakes, North Carolina. His vegetable garden was a source of pride and joy, and he delighted in sharing his harvest with friends and neighbors.

 

Roger's warmth was truly infectious. Known for his ever-present smile, sharing a beer, and quick wit, he had a unique ability to make those around him feel valued and at ease. His kindness, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He found happiness in the joy of others, often putting their needs above his own. He never saw a need to replace perfectly good, thirty-year-old furniture but always made sure his family had funds for their education.

 

Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years Claire, as well as his dear children, Suzanne and son Steven. He is survived by his 4 loving children Walter Behre (Rebecca) of Moscow, Idaho, James Behre, Karen Halada (Charles) of Middlesex New Jersey and Charles Behre (Nina) of Costa Mesa, California, his 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. It goes without saying that his entire extended family thought he was the best ever. His family extends heartfelt thanks to his Hospice team and the friends who supported him in his final years.

 

In honor of his life and legacy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, organizations that reflect Roger's commitment to service and community.

 

A ceremony will be held to celebrate Roger's remarkable life, at a later date in New Jersey.

Charles "Chuck" Wiedemann

Charles "Chuck" I. Wiedemann of McHenry passed away on July 23, 2026. He was born on March 30, 1937 in Chicago, IL to parents Frank and Geraldine (Burrier) Wiedemann.
Chuck graduated from McHenry East Campus High School before earning degrees from the University of Miami and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, graduated as a Second Lieutenant with Class 65E, and served in Taiwan with S.E.A.S.A. during the Vietnam War.
In 1966, Chuck married Air Force Nurse Jane Koffley at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. Their son, Russell, was born in 1969, and the family returned to McHenry, where they made their home and remained longtime residents.
Chuck continued his service as a pilot in the Air National Guard while building a career with Delta Air Lines, where he flew until his retirement. Flying was more than a profession; it was a lifelong passion.
He also took great pride in his hometown, where his family owned and operated the Mill Inn Restaurant for many years, a well-known gathering place in the McHenry community. Chuck also believed strongly in giving back to others and generously volunteered his time with the Lions Club for many years.
Chuck is survived by his wife Jane Wiedemann and his son Russell Wiedemann, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Monday July 27 9:00am-10:30am at Colonial Funeral Home, Mass will be held at St.Patrick Catholic Church on Monday July 27 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck's name can be made out to the Lions Club.
