Donna Roper Flynt
Donna R. Flynt, age 81, passed away on
November 26, 2015. She was born in
Gadsden, Alabama on May 29, 1934,
daughter of H. Melvin Roper and Lura C.
Roper. In recent years she was a resident of St. Catherine's Village, Madison, Mississippi.
She was a Flight attendant with Delta Air
Lines in the 1950's when she met her
husband George T. Flynt, a pilot for
Delta. After marriage, she was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother to her three sons.
Donna was involved with her sons' school
work and activities - including
basketball, football and baseball games. She was
very talented and did beautiful art needlework. Donna enjoyed reading and playing bridge and canasta with her friends. She was a
member of the Questers Antique Club.
Her family and friends always thought
of Donna as fun-loving, generous, and
kind. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, sons
Scott Roper Flynt, George Flynt, Jr.,
and Wesley Flynt (Christy), grandson
Jake Roper Flynt, sister Margie R. Brown, nieces Melissa Stump (Bill), Susan Penn (John), and Holly Lowman (Jack).
Services will be held at Ridgecrest
Baptist Church on Monday, November 30,
2015 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
The family would like to thank the staff
of St. Catherine's and Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, please make
donations to The Baptist Children's Village in Ridgeland, MS or your favorite
charity.
