Captain David M. Boaz passed away in his
sleep on January 11, 2016 at age 79
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1100 (11AM) on Saturday, January
30, 2016
Location: Admiral Kidd Officers Club
On Base at the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command ( NMAWC ) on
N. Harbor Dr. in San Diego, CA, just west of SAN Lindbergh Field.
Enter the base from N. Harbor Drive at Laning Rd. and proceed East to
McDonough Rd. Turn right on McDonough and proceed directly to the Club which is
on the San Diego Bay Front.
RSVP by 27 January to: Alboyceret@cs.com with the
names of those planning to attend. This is important as base security
requires a list of those authorized entrance. NMAWC is an active military
facility and a picture ID of those on the list will be required to
enter.

Word with the
passing of retired WA/DL pilot/chief pilot Captain Dave Boaz has been received.
Born/raised in the San Diego area, David McFall Boaz was 79 years of age at the
time of his passing. Captain Boaz joined Western Airlines 10-28-1968 and
retired with Delta Air Lines, and was based Los Angeles. Captain Boaz is
survived by his wife Judy. Online guestbook and arrangements are not yet
known.

I regret to inform that former WAL / DAL LAX Chief Pilot David Boaz passed
away in his sleep yesterday, January 11, 2016.
As you can imagine, his widow Judy is deeply bereaved and would appreciate
privacy at this point.

Hawaiian Airlines Names David M. Boaz VP -- Flight Operations
HONOLULU, August 22, 1997 -- Hawaiian Airlines (ASE and PE: HA) has appointed David M. Boaz to the position of Vice President - Flight Operations. The appointment was announced by Paul J. Casey, Hawaiian Airlines president and chief executive officer.
As vice president for flight operations, Boaz oversees all flight operations, including flight dispatch and crew scheduling. He is responsible for administering and supervising the activities of 282 pilots. He also directs a dispatch staff of 28 and 17 crew schedulers.
Boaz brings to Hawaiian more than 40 years' experience in aviation. Before joining Hawaiian Airlines, he was Delta Air Lines' managing director for China.
A graduate of Stanford University, Boaz spent 10 years on active duty with the U.S. Navy. Following his career as a Navy pilot, he flew for Western Airlines for 20 years, and for Delta Air Lines for 10 years, serving as chief pilot with both carriers.
He retired from the Navy, after 30 years of active and reserve service, with the rank of Captain and remains active with the Navy League and Naval Institute.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Dave's memory and Navy heritage with a donation to the Navy League of San Diego, 2115 Park Blvd., San Diego, 92101.
