___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

NAL/PAA/DAL Pilot Haskel Louis Karasoff

…..this news comes to us from the National Airlines alumni group…………..

-IN MEMORY-

NAL/PAA/DAL Pilot Haskel Louis Karasoff

DOB July 7, 1943      DOH Feb 12, 1973      DOD July 20, 2021

US Navy Veteran

Lou passed after a long difficult fight with pancreatic cancer. He was and his widow, NAL/PAA/DAL Flight Attendant Susan, were our good friends and neighbors here in Palm Coast. He was one of the few NAL pilots initially hired as a Flight Engineer to make the transition to pilot. While based in Miami they lived on a sailboat for a time in Key Biscayne. Subsequent to that they lived in the Keys on on the ocean. Boating was the love of his life after Susan. In retirement here they had a large motor home and traveled extensively.

No services are planned. His ashes will be committed to the sea in the Keys at a date to be determined later.

May his final flight west be fair of wind and free from turbulence.
