Notification with the passing of Delta Air Lines pilot Captain Jacob Forrest Brunnemer, age 63.  Our records show his pilot date of hire as 05-01-2000, based ATL.  Captain Brunnemer is survived by his wife Viviana, his children, his siblings and his in-laws.

Obituary : Jacob Forrest Brunnemer, 63, of Clover, SC, passed away September 11, 2021. He was born August 9, 1958 in Gaston County, NC, a son of the late Jacob A. Brunnemer and Patricia Abernathy Brunnemer.

 

Forrest was a 1976 graduate of Hunter Huss High School and received his Bachelor's degree from Western Carolina. He was a Captain with Delta Airlines for over 25 years and owner of JVB Sales, Inc. for 30 years. Forrest was Lutheran by heart and attended City Church, formerly known as Bethlehem. He enjoyed spending days with his family and being on the lake. Forrest was the life of the party and had the most infectious laugh. Well known for his gregarious sense of humor and pranks, he earned his nickname "Captain Crack" and will be remembered for always knowing when to flaunt his favorite accessory.

 

Forrest is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Viviana Gallagher Brunnemer; daughter, Megan Brunnemer and fiancé, Josh Anderson; son, Michael Brunnemer; sister, Barbara Brunnemer Sullivan and John; mother-in-law, Vivian S. Gallagher and father-in-law, Patrick and Bonnie Gallagher; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ileana Augustus, Patrick Gallagher and Donnie Aggerton, Ginny McCarthy and Chuck, and Bonnie Lea Gallagher and Steven Holmes; Four-legged companions, Gizmo, Moose, Stupie, Chester, Meatloaf, the “Mama”; and numerous nieces, nephews, special friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sylvia Bertram.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia on Saturday, September 18, 2021.

 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Gaston Memorial Park. A celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 pm at City Church, Sunday, September 19, 2021 with Rev. Dickie Spargo officiating. In honor of Forrest, the family requests that you wear something colorful!

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, Second Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540; Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Rd, Tyner, NC 27980, or Children's Home Society of North Carolina, 604 Meadow St, Greensboro, NC 27405.
