Obituary : Michael Daly, of St. Louis Park,
MN was born on September 29th, 1957, and passed surrounded with love by his
side on January 21, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.
Michael, the son of Helen Daly and the late
Raymond F. Daly Sr. of N. Easton, will be lovingly missed by his siblings
Raymond F. Daly Jr. and wife Marie of Taunton, Glen Daly and wife Mara of
Raynham, Diane Sherrick, and husband David of Middleboro, Debbie Benjaminsen of
Taunton, Robert Daly and wife Karen of Easton, Christopher Daly and wife
Raechel of Bridgewater and brother-in-law Edward Shockley of Middleboro.
Preceded in death by his sister Donna Shockley. Also survived by his 17 nieces
and nephews along with numerous extended friends and family that spans across
the United States.
A 1975 graduate of Oliver Ames High School,
Easton he continued his education while serving in the USAF ROTC Reserve
Program at Syracuse University and earning his bachelor's degree in Mechanical
Engineering in 1979.
Michael otherwise known as "IP"
engaged in an adventurous and fulfilling active life up until his sudden
passing. As an officer in the US Air Force, he served around the world both as
a T-38 instructor pilot with the 97th Flying Training Squadron and a C-141
pilot with the 18th Airlift Squadron. After completing his military service and
earning the Rank of Captain, Michael dedicated his life's work and passion to
aviation.
Retired from Delta Airlines in 2020 after 33
years of service, his professional career flight hours were admirable. He
logged approximately 17,000 flight hours & 8.8+ million miles equating to
18 round trips to the moon and back. Additional to being a Captain, he was a
dedicated AirBus instructor pilot within the organization, which allowed him to
assist in the training of future Delta Airlines pilots.
Inspiring those around him and helping whomever
he could, his career is a testament to his willingness to teach. Even after
retirement, he was pursuing an instructor pilot's license to continue this
passion. "IP" wasn't just a nickname, that was Michael Daly to the
core.
Those lucky enough to know Michael, understand
the impact he had on everyone. There was absolutely nothing Mike wouldn't do
for friends and family. Demanding personal accountability from himself and
others, he elevated all to be the best versions of themselves they could be.
Michael's ability to have fun, laugh, and live life to the fullest was
contagious. He could make any moment a memorable experience. The void he leaves
behind is simply immense.
In order to comply with Covid regulations and
protocol, services and celebrations of life will be held in the early spring. A

a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton, MA 02375. A
