Obituary : David James Ureda, 67, of Duluth
Georgia passed peacefully surrounded by family, on the evening of April 29th.
He was born July 23rd, 1955, to Eugene and Audrey Ureda.
Dave was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and,
while growing up in Woodland Hills, California, developed a passion for
airplanes and flying. He earned his
private pilot’s license as a teenager, became a flight instructor, graduated
from California State University at San Jose, and joined Delta Airlines at the
age of 23. He cherished his career at
Delta spanning 42 years, flying the 777 aircraft around the globe, and logging
over thirty thousand flight hours. He will be remembered as a consummate
professional and was proud to serve as Captain.
He will be most lovingly remembered for his
dedication and passion for family, larger-than-life stories, and famously
recognizable laugh. David took pride in facing life’s challenges positively and
seized every opportunity to engage with people. He never missed a chance to
improve a situation or a design. David lived his life under the guiding
principles of the Golden Rule while using “common sense and good judgment.”
He is survived by his wife Pam; his daughter
Amanda and her family Brent, Emma, Olivia, and Trevor; his son Davis and his
family Missy and Camryn; and his twin sons Kevin and Nicholas. He will be forever loved and remembered. His
strong legacy as a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather “Pops”, Brother, Son,
and Friend will carry on forever.
A Celebration of Life will take place soon
before Dave takes his final journey into outer space.
Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the
family with end-of-life care arrangements.
