___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Friends and Colleagues,

We only recently learned that NWA Captain Theodore Cline Preble died on

November 22, 2023. Cline was well known to many at NWA, having served as an

instructor/check airman at NWA Flight Training (NATCO). His aviation

background was extensive and begin with service in the U.S. Army. At the

time of his passing Cline and his wife Judy resided in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

Cline's passing left a huge void in his community and family.

 Well done Captain Preble,

 Bill Day

Cline Preble was such a gentleman. He was one of my A-320 Sim IPs in LGW
at the old British Caledonian (Now BA) training center, and recommended me
for my Type Rating in December, 1989. The following January he would give
me my Line Check along with the FAA's Joe Masini MSP-ORD-MSP. I learned as
much about working with people from him as I did flying the Airbus. I
would incorporate much of what I learned from Cline into my own teaching
style. Who said training wasn't supposed to be enjoyable??? Later, the
two of us would work together to write instructional and procedural
documents for VNAV--when we launched the 320 initially it was LNAV and Cat
I only. VNAV and CAT II/CAT III autoland would not come on line for
several years.

Sadly, the gent who flew Seat Support for me and ran the operation in
London for us, Mark Walton, is in hospice in Richmond, VA with stage 4
cancer.

Working with both of these gentlemen were some of the very best chapters in
my life's book. I will cherish those memories for as long as I live.

Godspeed, gentlemen
