___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary for John Edward Paulson

New Castle - John Edward Paulson, born in Masontown, PA, on August 8th, 1932, longtime resident of New Castle, NH, and previous resident of Hampton, NH, passed away peacefully on December 29th with his family by his side. John dedicated his life to service, family and adventure.

After an honorable career in the Air Force followed by time in the National Guard at Pease Air Force Base, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. A skilled handyman, he found joy in household projects and shared his passion for creating and fixing with those around him. He had a deep love for animals, an insatiable sweet tooth for chocolate, and an infectious sense of humor that brought fun and laughter to every moment. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to a family who will forever cherish his warmth and playful spirit.

John leaves his wife of 60 years, Beth Paulson, son John Christopher (Zenobia Moochhala), daughter Liz Paulson (Rebecca Young) and three grandchildren Jesse, Zain, and Zulekha.

John’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is now reunited in eternal peace with his extended family, including his parents, John and Agnes, and three siblings; his brothers Paul and David Paulson, and his sister Patricia (Lutchko) of Pittsburgh, PA.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember John at a funeral Mass with military honors on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Corpus Christi Parish, 98 Summer Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the NHSPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, two organizations that were dear to John’s heart.
