___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our PCN Flight West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Arthur Key Poe III, 62, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
Known to family and friends as Key, he was raised on his family farm in Apison, Tennessee. He graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1982, where he was a member of the varsity wrestling team. In 1987, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Following graduation, he worked at McKee Bakery for two years before embarking on his aviation career.
In 1989, Key joined the Georgia Air National Guard, beginning a distinguished career in aviation. He completed undergraduate pilot training at Vance Air Force Base in 1992 and flew the F-15 Eagle with the 128th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Dobbins Air Reserve Base. After five years flying the F-15, he transitioned to the B-1B Lancer at Robins Air Force Base. Key later became a captain with Delta Air Lines. During his 30-year airline career, he flew the Boeing 727, 737, 757, and 767.
Some of Key’s earliest memories were of living at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida, where his father was stationed. During that time, he developed a love of airplanes and went on to earn his pilot’s license at just 17 years old. In a flying career that spanned 37 years and over 19,000 hours, Key flew fighters, bombers, and airliners, making his childhood dream a reality.
Key was an active member of First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Georgia. He valued his faith and family above all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Key Poe II and Margaret Guille Poe.
Key is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Tracey Reardon Poe, and their daughter, Abigail Anne Poe. He is also survived by his siblings, Nicholas (Briana) Poe of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Amelia Poe of McDonald, Tennessee; and Marie Mossbeck of McDonald, Tennessee.
His extended family includes his mother-in-law, Sandy Reardon; John (Gina) Reardon of Hackettstown, New Jersey; and Heather (Jimmy) Beck of Cumming, Georgia.
One of Key’s special blessings was the love of his ten nieces and nephews: Olivia Hopkins, Cole Reardon, Cameron Reardon, Margaret Reardon, Chase Reardon, Sam Mossbeck, Andrew Mossbeck, Margaret Poe, Charlotte Poe, and Arthur Key Poe IV.
Funeral services were held 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2026 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Schmid officiating.
